Captain Weatherly Boat Captain/ Kayak Guide

Allow us to introduce shop manager, master naturalist, marine scientist, and Captain Weatherly Meadors. A Jane of all trades with a sweet sense of humor and quick wit, she will undoubtedly offer one of the most inimitable tours in the Charleston area.

A Charleston native, Madam Meadors is well-versed in the history of the civil and physical landscape, matched with a master’s degree in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston, and you’re sure to have all queries explained in a way your brain cannot help but absorb and savor. She has been in the ecotour business since 2010 and worked with numerous local organizations. When Weatherly isn’t on the water, she’ll be picking guitar strings, taking pictures, stalking birds, and traipsing down seldom wandered roads and waterways with her husband and dog.

M.S. Marine Biology

Tours she runs: All of them, boat and kayak!  Although I’m quite partial to guided beach walks, school/childrens programs, and anything involving food.

Captain Ryan Boat Captain

Capt. Ryan sailed into Folly Beach after completing a year long sailing journey around the Caribbean.  What began as a stopover for the season turned more permanent and he is now settled in Charleston. With a quick wit and and quicker smile, he will make you feel like your on a tour with an old friend.  As a native of Virginia Beach, Ryan has spent most of his life on the water and his enthusiasm is contagious!

Unfortunately this is his side hustle and he spends most of his days as a real estate agent helping people find their dream home.  Call him, he’d love to chat. (757-672-5000) For fun Ryan likes to surf, fix boats that are constantly breaking, cook with a French accent, and try to tune out his wife’s choice of home office music.

50 ton Masters License, with Sailing endorsement

Tours he runs:  Salt Marsh Adventure and Sunset tours, and all the sailing charters!

Captain Steve Turano

Whether it’s a 2-hr ecotour, bachelorette party, or lowcountry boil dinner Capt. Steve has it covered.  Steve left the Coast Guard several years ago and started running boat tours around Folly Beach.  He always has a smile on his face and is ready to show you everything our wonderful backyard has to offer!

Steve loves being on the water so much you’ll usually find him running trips on the awesome vintage yacht the Huckfin when he’s not working with us!

Captain Landon Brock

A tour with Capt. Landon will leave you feeling like you’ve spent the last few hours on the water with a good friend – who just so happens to spin a story of wildlife and history like he’s been doing it his whole life!  Also recently out of service with the Coast Guard, he now spends most of his time studying lawn and can help you with all of your legal needs (if it’s maritime law at least!).

In his free time you can find him on the Huckfin with Capt. Steve, picking a fine bluecrab, riding his motorcycle, and singing karaoke with the best of them!
